Hello! Happy New Year.
Okay, writing every day is hard.
When I started on this endeavor to publish every day I had NO idea what I was getting into, and that’s okay. I thought I had the ability, and I have to level with you. I do not. Yet. But I actually collected a number of ideas and brainstorming that allowed me to really sit down and get some lovely words out…just not here.
So we sit on January first and very, very unceremoniously try again. Not for every day, but to write something good when I can. If I get something out daily, yay! But something I’m working on is not hinging my worth on productivity, and this is going to be an uphill battle. I’m not sure how it’s going to go, but I am ready to try (again!)
BUT I did say that I wanted to be authentic every time, so here is a little anecdote for you —
One of the coziest things I like to sit down and make when I have the time is a soup. You can make a soup from nearly anything. Protein. (optional) Veggies. Water. Seasoning. Then B A M. Soup. I ended up making a delish wonton soup and veggies with extras from takeout, soy sauce, beef stock and tons of water.
My achilles is a good dumpling recipe. I tried to make them from scratch and it was a disaster, so I have not mastered that yet, but any soup from a base like these and I am munching until the bowl is empty.
Happy New Year!
This isn’t as profound as I’d like it to be, but sometimes you just want to curl up and have a delicious bowl of soup. And that is what I’m okay with.
Oh and if you have a signature soup, I want to know! Please share some with me below, and I shall attempt:)
Loved this read? This is part of a quiet challenge I made to myself to write a collection of memories. If you would like to follow me on this journey, consider following or subscribing to this publication.
